Questions we hear often
How fast can a teacher set up a lesson for a substitute day?
Usually in under five minutes. Upload the slides, PDF or outline you already planned, and HoloTutor builds an interactive lesson with an avatar teacher and questions that check for understanding. You can review and edit every board before you assign it.
Does the substitute need training?
No. Students open the assigned lesson and the avatar teacher leads it. The substitute does what they’re best placed to do: manage the room and support students.
What if a teacher is out unexpectedly?
Pick a lesson from the HoloTutor public library, or upload whatever the teacher left behind. A slide deck or a one-page outline is enough.
Which languages can a lesson be remixed into?
Twenty-seven, including Spanish, French, Arabic, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Russian, Hindi and Swahili. A remix can change the grade level in the same pass, and takes under five minutes.
Will students just get answers from it?
No. HoloTutor explains the idea and asks the student to take the next step. At KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, 81.8% of scholars said it encourages them to think through problems instead of copying answers.
